1. A grey scale glaze was applied to the face and body using light and dark shades of oil paint thinned with Winser and Newton Liquine
  2. These were then blended using a large soft blending brush.  White highlights were added, wet on wet and again blended. The painting was allowed to dry overnight
  3. Accuracy of the drawing was checked and if necessary corrected
  4. When dry, a thin mid-tone glaze was applied to the drawing and the highlights were restored, wet in wet.  At this stage it is very important that the details have been carefully rendered accurately.
